Today, the children in Jupiter class had a go at writing their own kennings. For those of you who aren't sure what a kenning is we will tell you. It's a kind of poem. It comes from the Anglo Saxon era, where swords had names like "death-bringer" or "wound-maker". You can create a lovely "riddle poem" by describing something in different ways on the different lines.
These two poems were judged by their classmates to be the best and the poets all received a prize for their efforts.
Can you work out what their kennings are about?
